What Is 2FA?
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds a second layer of identity verification beyond just a password. By requiring "something you know" (a password) plus "something you have" (a device or token) or "something you are" (biometrics), it drastically reduces the risk of unauthorized access.
Asset protection is a key priority for UpRock. Losses of assets have occurred in Web3 due to weak security processes during activities like deposits and withdrawals. 2FA is here to solve that.
Benefits of 2FA
Dramatically reduces account takeover risk by blocking stolen-password attacks.
Complies with regulatory requirements (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR) and industry best practices.
Improves user trust: customers and employees feel their data is better protected.
β οΈ Recommended Authenticator Apps (2025): Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or SafeAuth. Note: Twilio Authy Desktop has been permanently discontinued as of March 2024. If you were using Authy Desktop, please migrate to one of the apps listed above.
Setting Up 2FA on UpRock
Follow these steps to enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) in your UpRock app:
Download an authenticator app β we recommend Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator (available on iOS and Android). Note: Twilio Authy Desktop is no longer supported.
Open your UpRock app.
Go to Settings, scroll down to Multi-Factor Authentication, and tap on it.
Press the copy icon beside the Setup Key to copy it to your clipboard.
Open your authenticator app and tap the + (add) button.
Select "Enter setup key manually" and paste the key you copied.
Set the account name to "UpRock" for easy identification, then save.
Return to the UpRock app, tap Multi-Factor Authentication again, and confirm the authentication account you just created by entering the 6-digit code from the authenticator app.
Upon completing setup, you will receive a backup code. Store this somewhere safe β it is the only way to reset your 2FA if you lose access to your authenticator app.
Withdrawing UPT Tokens
Once 2FA is set up, you can withdraw your UPT tokens to any compatible Solana wallet. Follow these steps:
Open the UpRock app and tap "Wallet", then tap "Withdraw".
Select the token you wish to withdraw (UPT).
Paste your Solana wallet address. Double-check that the address is correct β transactions cannot be reversed.
Enter the amount you wish to withdraw. The minimum withdrawal is 250 UPT.
Open your authenticator app, locate your UpRock account, and copy the 6-digit code. Paste it into the field provided in the app.
Check your registered UpRock email address for a confirmation code and paste that into the second field.
Tap "Send Tokens" to submit your withdrawal.
To verify the status of your withdrawal, visit solscan.io and enter your Solana wallet address in the search field. A successful withdrawal will appear as a confirmed on-chain transaction.
