How UpRock runs in the background depends on your OS. Follow the recommended settings below.

Android

Android fully supports background running, allowing UpRock to earn continuously without keeping the app open. To get the best performance, apply the following settings.

In your Android device Settings, find the UpRock app and apply these changes:

  • Allow Background Data β†’ On

  • Battery Saver β†’ Off

  • Unrestricted Data Usage β†’ On

  • Pause App if Unused β†’ Off

Inside the UpRock app, also enable these settings:

  • Task Notifications β†’ On

  • Enable Heavy Tasks β†’ On

πŸ’‘ Tip: Keeping both Battery Saver off and background data unrestricted is the most important step for uninterrupted earning on Android.

iOS

Due to iOS App Store policies, the UpRock app cannot currently run in the background on iOS. To keep earning as consistently as possible, apply the following settings.

Inside the UpRock app, enable:

  • Task Notifications β†’ On β€” UpRock will notify you when you need to reopen the app. Missing these alerts may cause you to lose mining transactions.

On your iPhone home screen:

  • UpRock Widget β†’ On β€” add to your home screen for quick access to earnings and mining status.

  • Keep Mining Screen Open β†’ Optional β€” you can keep the UpRock mining screen open with the display on 24/7, though this will drain your battery faster.

πŸ’‘ Tip: Keeping the app active for longer periods directly increases your token rewards β€” the more time the app runs, the more UPT you earn.

Desktop (Windows & macOS)

All desktop operating systems support full background running with no additional settings required. UpRock will earn automatically once connected.

To get started:

  • Open the UpRock app and click Connect.

  • Leave your computer on and connected to the internet.

  • Do not put your computer into sleep mode or shut it down β€” this will stop mining.

ℹ️ macOS: macOS support requires macOS 12.0 or later on an Apple M1 chip or newer.
